GREETINGS STORY LOVERS!
Dia Dhuit!
I spent most of January down for the count with a horrible stomach thing. Luckily, my doctors seem to have it figured out, and I'm doing much better. Being able to handle protean and carbs has given me huge boosts in energy, which has raised my productivity level. Let's get right into it, because it's going to be a busy, busy year.
My 2026 schedule is live on the main website.
Here are some notable additions to the schedule as well as upcoming events:
- I host a monthly creative writing lab and poetry open mic at the Parliament wine lounge in Old Sacramento.
- Every last Friday of the month, we'll have a social gathering on Zoom. Message me wherever or join the Gallowglas Army Discord server for the link.
- Next week, I'll be at the Life, the Universe, and Everything symposium in Provo, UT. For the Utah members of the Gallowglas army, I still have spots in my masterclasses, I'm running my rogue program, AND this year we have bingo cards with FREE books as the prizes.
- For the writers, I'm restarting, Reading as a Contact Sport! Next meeting is March 7, and we're reading The Making of Another Motion Picture Masterpiece by Tom Hanks. Yes... the actor, Tom Hanks. These classes are FREE (with the option for a donation.)

Hardcore Fanboy is just me geeking out about nerdy things I love and musing on geek culture in general. Look for new episodes every Friday.
Every Episode of Write Right Now will feature me talking about writing fro 10-15 minutes. Just enough to get you thinking about some aspect of the skill and craft of writing well. Since I'm just starting this one, I figured I'd talk about beginnings. Look for new episodes every Wednesday.

I need your help!
Times are getting harder and harder for working creatives. For the most part now, career artists survive with the support of their fans and community. I've got a couple of simple things that y'all can help with that won't take too much of your time.
First: REVIEWS! If you have read any of my books, please take a few minutes and post reviews to Amazon and Goodreads, if you're on either of those platforms. It really does help, especially with the fickle gods of the Amazon algorithm. It doesn't have to be more than a sentence or two. More than that, post reviews or links to your reviews on social media. Don't do this just for me. Do this for every writer you love. Tag them in posts so they can see your love of their work. You will almost certainly brighten their day.
Second: Aside from these sporadic newsletters, what kind of things would you like to see on the Gallowglas Army HQ. I want to do something creative here, but I'm not sure what. When it's just me writing, I follow my own whims. However, when it comes to this space, it's not just about me. I may be the loud voice here, but this is a community, and I want to look at creating something here that y'all can sink your collective imaginative teeth into and look forward to seeing new posts. Seriously, whatcha got?
