Shenanigan Report - No Fooling Around!
Many people have compared me to a chaos spirit, so I generally take today off my various trickeries. Instead, I'd love to hear about what mischievery y'all have been up to today. Let me know in a comment below.
A SENSE OF COMMUNITY
We're going to start having some ongoing virtual hangouts. (All times are Pacific.)
Second Saturday Show Off - 8:30 am via Zoom
One part open mic, one part show-and-tell. On the 2nd Saturday of each month, we'll get together, and everyone will get a chance to show off something. Read an excerpt or poem. Brag about awesome stuff. Dazzle us with your newest acquired treasure. Show off your pets, if they cooperate. This is a chance for us to get to know each other a little more. And... you never know what might inspire the next Gallowglas Story!
Since I have a class, A Sense of the Poetic, on April 11, we'll start these in May.
Final Friday Social Hour - 6:30 pm via Zoom
The last Friday of every month, we just gather and chit chat.
The next one is April 24th, I'll likely be coming in from a hotel room, as I'll be performing at an event that weekend.
Co-Working Sessions - TBA on Discord
I'll be scheduling some times where we can gather and co-work or body-double in a dedicated channel in the Gallowglas Army Discord server. If you're not in the Discord, send me a message, and I'll get you an invite link. I don't want to post it where any number of spam bots can find it and invade our space. I'm still figuring out what times will work for my schedule. That being said, the Discord is always available if you want to connect with other members of the Gallowglas Army and share space.
National Poetry Month
It's April, and to celebrate, each day I'm posting a reading of a poem from the two books I'm launching this month. The first poem is Urban Odysseus. Over the next 30 days, you'll get a wide range of my poetic voice.
Upcoming Releases
Speaking of launching books
Cameos II, April 15 - This one was a lot of fun to write. It also got deep in some extremely surprising ways. And yes, it might have another Peter Dinklage poem or two.
The Nemo Point, April 30 - This is more of a heavy one, possibly my overall heaviest poetry collection to date. I don't want to give too much of it away, but at its heart, this book is about making and breaking connections all across the human experience.
We're still finalizing the covers for both of those.
Perchance to Dream, May 5th - This isn't a traditional release. I'm going to post this story here every week for the newsletter subscribers. It's a post-apocalyptic, magical-surrealistic tale about humanity rebuilding civilization after the elder gods return and lay waste to the world.
DRAGON DAY, May 23 - On the 15th anniversary of the release of The Dragon Bone Flute, I have two new books coming:

And many more planned for later in the year, but I don't want to overwealm you.
A Midsummer's Mini-Writing Retreat - July 9-14

I'm going to be hosting a mini-writing retreat. We'll have in-person and virtual options. More details to come in the next few weeks. Four days of awesomeness! This is a must-attend for anyone looking to level up their writing.
Until next time, true believers!
May all of your stories have happy endings!
