Shenanigan Report - Obligatory Holiday Post with a Prezzie!
GREETINGS, STORY LOVERS!
Welcome to the penultimate Shenanigan report of 2025. I'll have one more next week, where I wrap up the year and let you know what's coming up next year. I hope no matter which holidays you celebrate (or don't), your winter season is filled with joy, love, and friendship.
This may get a little sappy.
At first, I wasn't going to post anything for the holidays. For those of you who don't know me overly well, I'm not the biggest fan of this season, for a multitude of reasons. However, over the last several days, the Gallowglas Army stepped up and lifted me with the power of community with Zoom calls, text messages, meal gatherings, and gaming – both in person and online. All of it made me not just tolerate this season, but brought back a little bit of the magic. Not a whole lot of magic. Not like fireballs and lightning bolts kinda magic. More like My Little Pony power of friendship kinda magic, which ain't quite as flashy, but it goes a long way.
This has given me some thinking about all the support y'all have given me over the years. You've come to my shows, bought my books, liked my posts, written reviews, taken my classes, stopped by my table at events, had drinks with me, and even stuck it out here while I figure out exactly what I'm supposed to do with this newsletter thing. Hell, I've gone through some pretty dark times and rough patches over the last so many years, and each time, some of y'all have come out of nowhere to help me get through them. In short: you've shown up for me.
Thank you!
I know I'm a bit tardy for the giving, but better late than never... right? Anyway... To further show my appreciation, I'd like to give you a book. Send me an email to gallowglas@gallowglasarmy.com and let me know which of my books you want, and I'll send you an ebook version posthaste. (That is: when I'm at my computer and check the email, but it shouldn't take more than a day.
Next week, I'll post a wrap-up of the year and share some of the highlights of next year. We've got some exciting stuff in the works. But for now, I'll say, my priority is to connect more with this motley community that's gathered around me. I'm always more productive when I feel the Gallowglas Army support.
Slante!
Gallowglas
PS... Still looking to hear from y'all what you'd like to see here beyond my rantings and ramblings.
